A Winter Scene

"Winter on Front Street"
oil on canvas, 11x14"

It's that time of year. Winter scene paintings are so rare (done looking out a window), but this one seems appropriate as a cold January grips all of Pennsylvania. Snow takes over the Susquehanna River and attempts to blanket the banks. Cool colors can take over, but hints of violets and ochre try to "warm things up."

Reflection on a Fall 2013 Highlight, Brooklyn

Four of my paintings were exhibited in the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition Show in September - October 2013. The opening took place on a beautiful, crisp Fall day in NYC, showcasing a nice variety of work.

Summer Fun

"Yellow Breeches Fun"
11x14', oil on canvas
As summer is winding down, I think back to a very warm afternoon, painting this scene with several other SVPAP artists from a bridge over our local "Yellow Breeches Creek". Tubers of all ages were floating down the creek, cooling off. So happy that someone appreciated the fun in this painting and gave it a home!

Series of 3

"Sunny Susquehanna Saturday"
11x14", oil on canvas

"Glistening Grays"
4x12", oil on canvas

"Time for River Rain"
6x8", oil on canvas

This small series of the Susquehanna River, west, was painted on two Saturdays in a row during the Spring, with two differing weather forecasts. The colors in the sky were beautiful, in either type of weather!

Blustery But Bright Day

"Blustery But Bright"
9x12", oil on canvas

A very windy morning at Fort Hunter (Rockville) presented an extra plein air challenge! So the title states for the above little painting. This painting and 15 others can be seen in a solo exhibit at Varano Spong Financial Group Offices, Harrisburg, PA through September 2013.

Beautiful Pennsylvania

                                                              "Day on a PA Farm"
                                                            6x12", oil on Masonite

Farmland can be found across the state of Pennsylvania. The shapes and colors of the land forms, buildings, and animal life never cease to provide interesting landscape painting material. So glad that this piece has found a home in Pennsylvania!
