The landscape of northern Italy was inspirational and offered many sketching and painting opportunities in the sunny summer weather of 2018. This painting was based on plein air sketches and several others followed.

Silvery Snow Trail

"Silvery Snow Trail"
16x20, oil on canvas

After cross country skiing, this image of a woman walking her tentative golden dog, stuck with me. Creamy, sunny yellows met with silver blues and purples as the light came through the trees on the trail. It had to be painted and became part of CALC's "Silver Show".

Sweet Violets

"Two Sweet Violets"
16x20", oil

Painting flowers never seems to get old, as we bring a bit of nature indoors. Humble, sweet violets made for a still life opportunity and have since found a wonderful home.
